Sam Wood proposes with a $50,000 ringMichael Turnbull claims he was ‘bullied’ after The Bachelorette
They have yet to decide on a date, but Sam Wood and Snezana Markoski have no doubt in their minds about the location and the type of wedding they want when it comes to moving their seven month relationship to the next level.
The 35-year-old Bachelor-no-more opened up to Fairfax Media as he sipped an icy cool beer in the Jeep marquee at the Jeep Portsea Polo on Saturday. Taking the place of his glamorous fiancee were three of his pals, while outside the lavish marquee prowled his former love interest and self-described Bachelor “villain” Emily Simms, who Wood would no doubt prefer to avoid after she slammed him following the show.
Looking suave in a low-cut white T-shirt, blue jacket, navy shorts and brown shoes, Wood beamed from ear to ear as he discussed the Perth mother-of-one, whom he met on the third season of the reality television show, saying he “couldn’t be happier to be engaged.”
He said he knew since meeting her on the show that he would ask her to be his wife, but he wasn’t sure of the right time.
“I didn’t know when, but we were going down to Tassie for the first time for them [Snezana and Eve] and it just felt right,” he said.
Markoski’s nine-year-old daughter, Eve, from her estranged husband, accompanied the pair when Wood proposed a month ago, and she was even given a role to include her in the experience: “She took the video and picture, she was right there,” Sam said.
Right now he has “no idea” what date the big day will be, but he’s in no rush to race down the aisle, saying: “It’s all so fresh we will work it all out in due course… Later this year, we plan to work it all out.”
Despite Markoski’s large and close-knit Macedonian family being based mostly in Western , Wood said that it would be a Victorian wedding.
“Snez wants a Melbourne wedding, I’d love a Melbourne wedding,” he said.
He shot down the suggestion of an OTT and glam affair, saying: “It will be understated and outdoors.”
Rumour has it the lovebirds will be hitched on television – the very place their love blossomed – and it is something the handsome couple have not ruled out.
“I don’t know, maybe,” he said with a smile, “It would have to be under the right circumstances, but really it’s Snez’s decision.”
He laughed when he was asked if he would consider something like Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s lavish nuptials that were partly shown on her reality TV show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
“I don’t know, those comparisons make me laugh,” he said.
With a grin on his face, he described the moment he pulled out the $50,000 Bensimon Diamonds platinum, hand-crafted, two carats, princess cut ring and popped the question.
“She was shocked, she had no idea it was coming, and that’s what I wanted. It was beautiful,” he said.
Right now the celebrity personal trainer and entrepreneur is working on his new fitness app, 28bysamwood杭州龙凤论坛m, which will be available from February 1.
“It’s a 28 minute programme for 28 days… It will be the best fitness app you can do.”
