And Again is the latest offering from Neroli Foster, who came up with the idea of apop-up restaurant in a secret location to give people a dining experience with a difference.
On January 22 and January 23a Broadmeadow location will be beautifully transformed by The Wedding Designerinto a stylish restaurant setting with a three-course meal crafted by a celebrated local chef, and live music courtesy of EAO Entertainment.
On arrival, guests will be greeted with a welcome cocktail from Coal & Cedar and grazing plates by the Bowery Boys. Chef Michael Robinson, formerly of Margan Restaurant, will create the first two courses, and Hello Naomi will serve up something suitably delectable for dessert.
WinemakersHart & Hunterwill complete the occasion with a selection of theiraward-winning wines.
Ms Foster has staged similar pop-up events in the past –ata rooftop penthouse apartment, a cinema, a warehouse, a furniture store and a laneway.
Venues are only ever used once and their location is never revealed until the last moment.
“The location needs to be somewhere unusual and where you would never expect to be sitting down to dinner,” she said.
“Every event is different as they are always in a new location with a new chef and a great collection of culinary masters to create a fabulous meal.
“Having The Wedding Designer as partners opens up a whole new world of venues as they are so good at making spaces look amazing.
“We are hoping to do these events again and again as we discover new venues, hence the name.”
Eating in strange locations is a passion for Ms Foster, and in Newcastle she found a city full of interesting places to dine in.
“The excitement of a secret venue has everyone buzzing right from the start of the night,” she said.
“The long table-style set up has guests meeting perfect strangers as they share a meal together. I love creating ways for people to connect over a meal.”
Ms Foster also runsEpicurean Excursion food tours around the city and the Insiders Lounge supper event series at the Insideout furniture store.
